Sannette Viljoen - EVP; CCC: BBK (UP)

Name

Sannette Viljoen certified in 2010 as an Earned Value Professional (EVP) and in 2011 as a Certified Cost Consultant (CCC) through AACE International. She has acquired her Corporate Communication degree (BBK) from Potchefstroom University (RSA) in 1997. She has more than 14 years experience in Project Cost Engineering and Project Controls.

  • • In 2008 she attended the AACEI’s World Conference in Toronto, Canada.
  • • In 2010 she attended the College of Performance Measures’ Earned Value World 2010 Conference in Naples, Florida, USA.

Sannette has held various positions during her working career:
  • • 1997-2009 – Project Planning & Costing at various EPCM and Engineering companies working mainly on Mining, Nuclear and Petro-Chemical Plants.
  • • 2009 to date – Earned Value Management Control Account Manager – practising project controls and reporting on project progress, performance and project status, based on Earned Value Management Principles, on coal mining surface processing plants.

Sannette is currently an Earned Value Professional (EVP) and Consultant applying Earned Value Management principles and Performance Measures on Capital Projects for major Mining Houses in South Africa.

Name

Willie Viljoen has more than 35 years of experience in construction, engineering and project controls, covering mining, paper and pulp, petro-chemical, power generation and nuclear projects.


Willie has been a speaker and presented several papers on Project Controls based on Earned Value Management Principles at numerous national and international Conferences:

  • • 2008: At the AACEI’s World Conference in Toronto, Canada – presented “The DNA of Project Controls based on Earned Value Management Principles”.
  • • 2009: At the PMSA Annual Conference in Cape Town, South Africa – presented “Project Controls based on Earned Value Management Principles.
  • • 2011: Africa Utility Week, Cape Town – Presented ”Large Power Generation Projects in Africa”.

Willie received ECSA Accreditation for his Company to present Workshops on the following:

  • • CPD Accreditation No: SAIMechE-0424-01/14 – “Project Controls based on Earned Value Management Principles”
  • • CPD Accreditation No: SAIMechE-0229-03/11– “World Class Project Controls”

In June 2010 he attended the Project Management Institute - College of Performance Measures’ Earned Value World Conference, in Naples, Florida, USA, where he accumulated knowledge on the industry’s best practices, mainly through workshops presented by NASA and the USA Department of Defence (DOD).

Willie has held various senior positions during his career:

  • • 1984 to 1987 - Appointed to the Board as Director of Group 5 Projects Construction.
  • • 1988 to date - a Director of Marwillcor Project Control Services (Pty) Ltd. Marwillcor provides ECSA accredited training workshops to the Project Management and the Construction industry on World Class Project Controls™ and specialises in Project Controls on a consulting basis.
  • • 2003 to 2004 - worked in collaboration with Dr. David Milne of David Milne & Associates to apply and assess earned value progress and performance measurement on major projects in South Africa.
  • • 2004 - Appointed as a member of the PMSA Standards Generation Body - A Government Gazette Appointment.
  • • 2004 & 2005 - Served on the Board as Director of the Cost Engineering Association of South Africa (CEASA).

Willie specialises in setting-up Project Controls based on Earned Value Management Principles for large projects. He is currently a consultant for Major Mining houses, Power Generation and Petro-Chemical companies in South Africa.
